About the Author
Francoise Gilot was made a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Minister of Culture in 1987 and a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1990. Carlton Lake is a writer, editor and arts correspondant having contributed to numerous magazines.

Amazing insight.

Honestly how Gilot remembered all that is amazing. It was written soon after leaving Picasso so that contributed to its accuracy. Sounded so logical and honest.

Excellent into Picasso

I started this book and hated to put it down. Since Francoise was young when she met him, she is in a sense his pupil. You learn as she learns about Picasso style, technique drive, philosophy, how he manipulates society to him instead of him changing for society. Quite an enjoyable work of art.
