Good summary of what is Robbins all about

Tony Robbins is one of the few life coaches and self-help authors that I respect. I am just finishing one of his books and I listened to a podcast where he was a guest and he blew me away.
This book is a compilation of his thoughts and lessons and the author points out the key thing in them and what to do with that information. It is clear that the author knows a lot about Robbins and his writing and I think this is a good book for anyone who is not yet familiar with him. It is always better to get one of his book, of course, but this is a good representation of his thought process.

More than anything, I feel so encouraged after reading this book. Well, who wouldn't be if it is about Tony Robbins? I mean, everyone knows him and loves him and his life's journey. He has been a source of inspiration to more and more people, day by day. Indeed this book has taught me a lot of reasons why he must be emulated. One will think, if Tony has done, why can't I. This is so inspiring that after reading, one will be re-thinking and re-evaluating his life.

About the Author
Philosopher and metaphysician, poet and artist, Frithjof Schuon (1907-1998) is world-renowned in the field of Comparative Religion and is known as the pre-eminent exponent of the Perennial Philosophy. He was born in Basel, Switzerland, of German parents. He went to Paris as a young man, where he studied for a few years before undertaking a number of trips to North Africa, the Near East, and India in order to contact spiritual authorities and witness traditional cultures. Following WWII, he accepted an invitation to travel to the American West, where he lived for several months among the Plains Indians, in whom he had always had a deep interest. He spent his mature life writing more than twenty books of essays comprising a spiritual message of solar magnitude. The dominant theme, or principle, of Schuon's writings was foreshadowed in his early encounter with a marabout who had accompanied some members of his Senegalese village to Basel for the purpose of demonstrating their African culture. When the young Schuon talked with him, the venerable old man drew a circle with radii on the ground and explained: "God is in the center, all paths lead to Him." This metaphysical truth is the leitmotif of all Schuon's writings, beginning with his first book, the title of which: The Transcendent Unity of Religions is very indicative in this respect.

Schuon has written more than 20 books, as well as having been a regular contributor to leading journals on comparative religion in both Europe and America for over 50 years. His writings have been translated into over a dozen languages, and have been consistently featured and reviewed in a wide range of scholarly and philosophical publications around the world, respected by both scholars and spiritual authorities.

A beautiful collection of poems

The poems in this collection remind one of the great poets and sages of the old. It is as if the drops of a melody flowing from an eternal source have once again crystallized as jewels each urging one to the life towards the inward. The diversity and depth of the poems convince one of the greatness of their author. Frithjof Schuon's poems recapitulate his teachings in a new form which penetrate the heart. They deal with so many aspects of spiritual life: metaphysics, spiritual way, virtue and beauty, which leads towards the inward. I recommend this book to any one who seeks the meaning of life.

The past 50 years have witnessed the growth and evolution of clinical electrophysiology from a field whose goals were simply to understand of the mechanisms of arrhythmia to one of significant therapeutic impact. The development and refinement of implantable devices and catheter ablation have made non-pharmacological therapy a treatment of choice for most arrhythmias encountered in clinical practice.

Cardiac Arrhythmias: From Basic Mechanism To State-of-the-Art Management provides an electrophysiologic approach to arrhythmias predicated on the hypothesis that a better understanding of the mechanisms of arrhythmias will lead to more successful and rationally chosen therapy. It encompasses the anatomy of arrhythmias, diagnostic methods, comorbid diseases, and the treatment of all forms of cardiac arrhythmias. You better hope you have the Rosetta stone for laboratory manuals ...

If this book is on your syllabus, then God help you. Get ready for complete and total confusion. This book is not written in English. You better hope you have the Rosetta stone for laboratory manuals to translate this into usable language. It is written by the most hasty and unhelpful humans who sit up high in a textbook publishing company castle without a readily available "Contact us" number. Which is lucky for them otherwise they would have gotten an earful from me every single time I tried to do an experiment from this lab. Horrible. Some students might be lucky enough to have a teacher who can translate the confusing and poorly worded procedures. But for those of us with professors who would rather do crosswords than teach, this book is nearly impossible to use. In fact, you better hope you don't blow something up or get acid all over yourself. Some solutions to pre-lab questions are in the back of the book but I have caught numerous typos and missing questions. But that was no surprise to me because the entire text was clearly written by lazy baboons.

One more thing. To Pearson Education, if you ever see this review (since I know how fond of customer contact you are not), I just want you to know that I have a lot of talented English major friends who need jobs. Perhaps you could hire them to edit your publications next time. They'd do a whole lot better job than whoever you're paying to do work now. No science experience required.

Buy the book from Amazon Brand New!!!!!!!!!!

Beware!!!!!!!!!There are alot of sellers selling these lab books(used) without the labs inside of them regardless of what they say in their description.I ordered it used at first and the book was missing alot of pages,I purchased a new book from Amazon & returned the old one and only had to spend about $15 more than the used book cost me and $40 less than my school sells it.Overall Amazon provided me with excellent service in regards to this issue.

Soo disappointed. Paid 228.00 and no access card included. What a scam textbooks have become. Now you need the main book, the lab book and an access card. The total cost is around 450.00 for everything. THAT IS FOR ONE CLASS!!!

Listen to Wimbledon's old boss

Chris Gorringe was Wimbledon's "CEO" from 1978-2005. If you're a tennis fan, you will surely enjoy reading his story. The book has a number of humorous tales as well as serious challenges that he had to deal with.

There is quite a lot of English history [sporting and otherwise], as well as personal history from the Chairman of the All England Club. The Championships, as they call it, is the oldest lawn tennis tournament in the world. Putting on a successful event like this takes a lot of teamwork, and it helped that Mr Gorringe was a well-liked fellow, who got along with the many people who helped out in running the tournament. His job was not easy, as you'll discover.

If you love tennis, then Wimbledon should be very special to you. i hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.

Very interesting read.

I was not really expecting a great deal from this book - I thought it would be one of those books that are interesting to read but you'd forget about a week after you've finished it. I was totally wrong.

As a tennis fan this was an excellent read. It is well written and easy to read. The author (Chris Gorringe) comes across as a straightforward man who was lucky enough to have the dream job for nearly three decades. He takes us through some of the changes and controversies that have impacted Wimbledon over that time - playing on the middle Sunday, John McEnroe, equal prizemoney, the Olympics and putting a roof on Centre Court.

His story is told in a simple and understated way - Gorringe doesn't appear to be one of those administrators who needs to be in the limelight. Rather, he has an interesting story to tell and he does it well.

Recommended for all tennis fans.
